Infant & Children Sessions
At Uwila Wellness, infant and children’s sessions are rooted in nervous system awareness, gentle body-based care, and deep respect for a child’s innate wisdom. These sessions are not about fixing or forcing change — they are about supporting regulation, ease, and integration during the most formative years of life.
Working with babies and children is profoundly subtle. Their bodies and nervous systems are highly responsive, deeply intuitive, and still forming patterns of safety, resilience, and self-regulation. Through gentle craniosacral therapy, Reiki, and somatic attunement, I offer a calm, grounded space where your child’s system can settle, unwind, and reorganize in its own timing.
Parents are always considered part of the healing field. Whether you are holding your infant, sitting nearby, or receiving guidance for ongoing support at home, these sessions honor the relational bond between caregiver and child.
Why Bring Your Infant or Child for a Session
Families seek infant and children’s sessions for many reasons — some physical, some emotional, and many that live quietly beneath the surface.
You might consider a session if your child is experiencing:
Difficulty settling, sleeping, or regulating emotions
Colic, reflux, digestive discomfort, or tension patterns
Birth-related stress (long or fast labor, C-section, forceps/vacuum, NICU stay)
Developmental transitions or plateaus (rolling, crawling, walking)
Heightened sensitivity, anxiety, or overwhelm
Recovery after illness, injury, or medical procedures
Emotional changes related to family shifts, school, or early trauma
Sometimes parents come simply because something feels “off,” or because they want to support their child proactively rather than waiting for symptoms to escalate. Both are valid reasons to be here.
What to Expect
Sessions are slow, gentle, and child-led. There is no forceful manipulation, stretching, or expectation for your child to behave in a certain way.
For infants, sessions often take place while they are being held, fed, rocked, or resting on the treatment table with a parent close by. For toddlers and children, the session may include movement, play, conversation, rest, or quiet touch — depending entirely on what feels safest for them.
I track the nervous system throughout the session, adjusting pacing and touch to support regulation rather than stimulation. Some children respond with deep relaxation; others release through movement, emotion, or sound. All responses are welcome.
Parents often notice subtle shifts immediately, with continued changes unfolding over the days following the session.
What age range do you work with?
I work with newborns through childhood. Each session is adapted to the child’s developmental stage, needs, and capacity.
Will my child need to lie still?
No. Children are free to move, play, rest, or interact in whatever way feels natural to them.
Will my child need to lie still?
No. Children are free to move, play, rest, or interact in whatever way feels natural to them.
How should we prepare for the session?
There is very little to prepare. Bring anything your child needs to feel comfortable — snacks, toys, comfort items — and arrive with flexibility.
The Experience
Each session is unique, but generally includes:
Gentle craniosacral holds to support the brain, spine, and nervous system
Reiki and energy-based support for emotional and physiological regulation
Somatic attunement to tension patterns, breath, and rhythm
Space for emotional expression and integration
Guidance for parents on supporting their child’s nervous system at home
The session is quiet, spacious, and responsive. My role is not to override your child’s system, but to listen to it.
Who It’s For
These sessions are for:
Newborns, infants, toddlers, and children
Highly sensitive or intuitive children
Children who have experienced birth stress or early medical intervention
Families seeking gentle, holistic support alongside or outside conventional care
Parents who value nervous system health, emotional wellbeing, and embodied development
No diagnosis is required. You do not need a referral. If you feel called to support your child in this way, that is enough.
Is craniosacral therapy safe for babies and children?
Yes. Craniosacral therapy for infants and children is extremely gentle and widely used to support nervous system regulation, birth recovery, and developmental transitions.
Can these sessions help with sleep or emotional regulation?
Many parents seek sessions for sleep challenges, emotional overwhelm, or difficulty settling. While outcomes vary, nervous system support often has a positive ripple effect across sleep, mood, and regulation.
Are these sessions a replacement for medical care?
No. These sessions are complementary and do not replace medical or psychological care. I am happy to work alongside other healthcare providers as part of a holistic support team.
